So we helped Chelly pack up her classroom today, because she is moving to a new School (Again Congrats Chelly on your new position), and in doing so, we got a pretty good work out. She had a ton of art books, (free weights?), I got a lot of stretching done (taking things off the ceiling) and ultimately, I worked up a healthy sweat ( there was no A.C.). We will probably go for a small walk later today, but we won't probably go back to the gym again until tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well with their goals and as always good luck!
Today is Athfest in Athens, and crowds are milling about in downtown. Bands are everywher on state inside and out.
ReplyDeleteI am looking out my office window toward Broad Street, and the warm July wind is moving the trees slowly in the bright sun. My walk today, thus far, is from the parking garage to my office....about 900 steps....on the way to my 10,000 for the day.
I plan to walk after I get home today.
Last night, I did some stretching exercises from a book that I receieved at Christmas.
I heard a fitness guru on the radio, and he said a goal for weight loss of one lb. per week is just about right. That can be done, according to him, but a swing of 500 calories per day for 7 days.
So you either have to
1. eat 500 calories less per day
2. burn 500 more calories per day than ususal in exercise
3. or do a combination (e.g. eat 250 less and burn 250 more).
I like this plan...pretty easy to figure out which ones you are doing and not doing each day.
Well, I sitting here writing...and probably burning no calories! I think I will take a lunch break and walk up and down the steps in Meigs about 20 times!!!
Best wishes!
