It's been awhile....

So it has been awhile since I have posted last but I have been working at losing the weight. Unfortunately I seem to be stuck. I have been trying to keep track of my caloric intake, and I have made a goal of 1900 calories or less a day. In addition I have been trying to exercise every other day or so. We went to the gym last night and Christina did her Body Pump class, it is a light weight training class, and I did 35 minutes on the elliptical. It was a light day or me, I managed though to pick up the pace because I didn't do my extra and I burned over 5oo calories, 505 to be exact, and lately I have only been burning about 470 on the same setting. The last couple of times I have done 3 different sets of exercise and managed to burn between 750 and 85o calories. I think I have lost some weight in my face and I think my clothes are fitting differently but I don't seem to be dropping any weight yet. It is a little discouraging but I am going to just keep after it.

Wish us luck!!!!

It's Getting Dark....

So Christina and I went to the Gym yesterday. First of all a little bit of a recap on our weights and goals are in order. I started off weighing in about 218, since then my weight has been in a flux but usually comes to rest around 212. Christina started at X but since then has lost 6lbs, so we are both pleased with the results so far. Of course we would love to report that we have shed 25lbs, but hey the summer is still young.

So last night we went to the Gym. Christina did some light weight work, trying to tone her arms, and she also did some crunches, finishing her evening up with some time on the elliptical. I started last night on the "stair master" and I increased the time up to 12 minutes, working on the fat burn setting, and boy do I have some fat to burn, 130+ calories spent later I was dripping wet and headed towards the elliptical machine. There I spent another 35 minutes running in place (ultimately burning an additional 480+ calories) watching the Rock try to make respectable young men out of a bunch of juvenile delinquents in the movie, The Grid Iron Gang. the first half was pretty good but I still don't have much faith in the Justice System after taking part in it on the victim side. And speaking of, I am still waiting for my check from the other young man who was found guilty of mugging me, so Hello Baltimore, let's see if we can't get that moving in my direction, I have a wedding to pay for!

Anyway needless to say Christina and I had a great workout, even if I thought I was about to pass out. To everyone, good luck with your goals, and please wish us luck!

Taking a Day Off....

So we helped Chelly pack up her classroom today, because she is moving to a new School (Again Congrats Chelly on your new position), and in doing so, we got a pretty good work out. She had a ton of art books, (free weights?), I got a lot of stretching done (taking things off the ceiling) and ultimately, I worked up a healthy sweat ( there was no A.C.). We will probably go for a small walk later today, but we won't probably go back to the gym again until tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well with their goals and as always good luck!

Feeling The Burn....

So Last night we went to the gym, and we brought on the burn! Christina started with the Elliptical and logged 35 minutes, knocking off around 400 calories. I, to mix things up a bit, started off with the evil "stair master" on which I climbed for 10 minutes, knocking off about 140 calories, and boy were my dogs barking after that! From there I went to the Elliptical and ran in place for 35 minutes where I knocked off an additional 480 calories. Needless to say I was dripping sweat. After that I went and took a seat, and waited for Christina who was doing some light weight work and crunches with her Maid of Honor/ Personal Trainer Chelly. All in all I think we had a really productive night at the gym, and we plan on going again tonight so as always...wish us luck!

This Weigh and That....

So Christina took the evening off last night, so it was me all by my lonesome in the evening sweat. So I decided to take off through the neighborhood, going every which way but loose. I went for 45 minutes, stepping out to my favorite mix on the ipod. According to my calorie counter built into my watch I knocked off 540 calories, so I felt pretty good about that. The only disappointing thing was that today I didn't get a chance to exercise, so I guess I will have to get caught up tomorrow.

Girlish figure...

So yesterday we had another work out, it again was a mixed day for Christina and I. Christina went to the gym, and she worked out on the elliptical. I was at home working around the house and made dinner. We had a nice dinner, tofu and veggies, over fried rice. Afterward we went for a long walk. The walk was a couple of miles around the neighborhood. We clocked 45 minutes, and my watch said 200 calories were burned, maybe not as many calories as I would like to knock off but I am getting there, slowly but surely. At this rate I think Christina is definitely going to find her girlish figure before I rediscover mine. Rome wasn't built in a day, but hopefully losing 18lbs can be accomplished in a summer. Wish us luck...

Monday Work Out...

So today we did a light day, well I did that is. I went for two walks, and I kept a calorie watch on both. The first walk, which was to the bank and back home, totaled 90 calories burned, the second walk which Christina joined me for was much longer and we burned 220 calories, for a sum of 300 calories in walking exercise. Christina and I also did 3 sets of two different light weight work for the arms, each set was 10 reps. Christina and I also both did a stomach exercise.

In addition Christina gets the star today because she in addition to our long walk together also went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Our goal is still to lose between 15 and 20 lbs for the summer and I think, if we can keep this up, we might just do it. Wish us luck!

Ps. at the rate we are walking too bad we can't get frequent flyer miles...
